The True God, the Holy Spirit, and the Voice That Misled Abraham
Why Abraham heard two different “voices of God,” why the Holy Spirit did not correct the second voice, why Jesus corrected parts of the Old Testament, and why Deuteronomy 32:8–9 tells us that only one portion (a very small portion) was assigned to YHWH—without implying that YHWH is evil or the devil.
This is not speculation. It is grounded in Scripture, the words of Jesus, the prophets, and the ancient worldview of the nations.
1. Jesus Gives the Key That Unlocks the Whole Old Testament
Jesus makes three statements that shake the entire foundation of Israel’s assumptions:
“You have never heard His voice nor seen His form.”
— John 5:37
“No one has ever seen the Father.”
— John 1:18
“No one knows the Father except the Son.”
— Matthew 11:27
If Jesus is telling the truth (and He is), then:
Israel did not actually know the Father.
They had never seen Him.
They had never heard Him directly.
Therefore many Old Testament passages—especially the violent ones—cannot be the Father Jesus revealed. Jesus is not contradicting Scripture; He is exposing its two voices.
2. The Two Voices in the Old Testament
Every student who reads the Old Testament with honesty sees a conflict:
- One voice speaks universal love: mercy, justice, compassion, blessing for all nations.
- Another voice speaks tribal loyalty: war, retaliation, ritual obsession, violence.
The New Testament writers recognized this.
A. The First Voice — The True Father (spoken through His messenger)
- Nonviolent
- Merciful
- Inclusive of ALL nations
- Consistent with Jesus’ nature
- Spoken through angels, prophets, and the Spirit
B. The Second Voice — The National Portion Ruler (YHWH)
This is crucial:
YHWH is NOT the devil.
YHWH is NOT evil.
YHWH is a real divine being assigned one portion of humanity.
Scripture reveals this clearly:
“When the Most High divided the nations… He fixed the borders… according to the number of the sons of God. YHWH’s portion was His people.”
— Deut 32:8–9 (Dead Sea Scrolls)
This text means:
- YHWH was assigned a portion—not all humanity.
- His portion was Israel/Judah—not the entire world.
- Other divine beings had other nations.
- The Most High is above all of them.
This is why Jesus regularly corrected the second voice.
3. Jesus Corrects the Second Voice Repeatedly
Here are the clearest examples where Jesus overrides or reverses Old Testament commands:
- “You have heard… BUT I SAY TO YOU.” (Matt 5)
- Rejects retaliation: “Eye for eye” (OT) → “Do not resist evil” (Jesus)
- Rejects stoning: saves the woman in John 8
- Rejects Elijah’s violence (Luke 9:55)
- Declares all foods clean (Mark 7:19)
- Corrects Moses on divorce (Matt 19:8)
Every one of these was a direct correction of the national ruler’s decrees.
Jesus is not rebuking the Scriptures—He is revealing the True Father behind the Scriptures.
4. Abraham Heard Both Voices — And Scripture Preserves It
Abraham has moments of pure, beautiful divine revelation:
- “In you all nations will be blessed.”
- The three visitors of Genesis 18—gentle, joyful, peaceful
- He is called a “friend of God”
These match Jesus perfectly.
But then Abraham also receives commands that violate the Father Jesus revealed:
- The command to sacrifice his son
- Instructions that sound violent or ritualistic
- Moments that conflict with mercy
This is where the early Christians, Jewish mystics, and Paul all identified the involvement of the portion ruler.
5. Why the Holy Spirit Did NOT Correct the Second Voice
This is the big question. Scripture gives four answers.
A. The Spirit had not yet been given
“The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
— John 7:39
Before Jesus, the Spirit could guide but not fully correct. Humanity wasn’t ready.
B. YHWH had legal authority over his portion
Deuteronomy 32:8–9 is a legal, cosmic statement.
- YHWH had jurisdiction over Israel/Judah
- The Most High honored the structure He Himself appointed
- The Spirit does not violate divine order
The Spirit could guide Abraham.
But could not override the ruler assigned to his nation.
C. Humanity was spiritually incapable
“You cannot bear them now.”
— John 16:12
If the Spirit openly rebuked the national ruler’s commands in 1800 BC… Abraham would have collapsed under the revelation.
D. Only Jesus was authorized to reveal the Father
“I will show you plainly of the Father.”
— John 16:25
Only Jesus could expose the misunderstanding and correct the second voice. This is why the Holy Spirit waited until Christ’s work was complete.
6. After Jesus, Everything Changes
With Christ’s arrival:
- The Spirit is poured out (Acts 2)
- The cosmic rulers are disarmed (Col 2:15)
- The strong man is bound (Matt 12:29)
- The Father is revealed clearly (John 14:9)
- The second voice is finally corrected (Matt 5)
For the first time in history:
Humanity can hear the Father without distortion.
7. Did YHWH Really Receive All Israel?
No. Scripture is extremely precise.
Deuteronomy 32:8–9 does NOT say:
- “YHWH received all nations.” — false
- “YHWH received the 12 tribes.” — false
It says:
“YHWH’s portion was His people.”
Which part?
Historically and biblically:
- After the split, the northern tribes were lost to the nations
- The southern kingdom—Judah (plus Benjamin and Levi)—remained
- YHWH’s portion centered around Judah
This aligns perfectly with:
- The tribal division in Kings and Chronicles
- The prophetic focus on Judah
- The Messiah emerging from Judah
YHWH’s portion was not the world, nor all tribes—only Judah’s domain.
8. Why Didn’t the First Voice Publicly Correct the Second Voice?
A. The Most High respects the structures He appoints
When the Most High assigned the “sons of God” their nations, He did not violate His own decree.
B. Correction comes only through the Son
Jesus is the only being in the universe authorized to reveal the Father without distortion.
C. Humanity learned gradually
Like children, spiritual growth came “line upon line.”
D. The Father’s voice was whispering the entire time
Through:
- The Minor Prophets (the purest first-voice texts)
- Wisdom literature
- The visitations of angels
- The still small voice
9. What Abraham Actually Experienced
Putting it all together clearly:
- The Holy Spirit guided Abraham.
- The national ruler also spoke to Abraham at times.
- The Spirit did not publicly rebuke the ruler because the cosmic order was still intact.
- Jesus came to reveal which voice was the True Father.
Jesus, not Abraham, is the full revelation of God. Abraham saw glimpses. Jesus showed the truth.
And now you are seeing the same truth the apostles saw.
I believe that now Christianity makes sense for me and will make sense for you too.
