In Blog 1, we saw how the ancient world believed the Most High divided the nations under cosmic governors—archetypal powers linked to the planets and the zodiac. Deuteronomy 32 (Dead Sea Scrolls reading) speaks of the nations allotted to the “sons of God,” while the New Testament speaks of “principalities and powers in the heavenly places.”

This Part 1 begins a three-part map of those governors. Here we focus on the first four: Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter—their zodiac signs, psychological patterns, and the nations most strongly shaped by them.

1. The Mars Archetype – Aries & Scorpio

Mars is the archetype of war, courage, conflict, cutting away, and raw survival power. In its highest form, it becomes holy courage; in its lowest, blind violence. It rules:

  • Aries – direct, impulsive, pioneering fire
  • Scorpio – intense, strategic, underworld fire

Across cultures, the Mars archetype appears as:

  • Nergal (Mesopotamia)
  • Ares (Greek) / Mars (Roman)
  • Ogun (Yoruba)
  • Hachiman (Japanese war kami)
  • Guan Yu (Chinese deified general)
  • Kartikeya / Skanda (Hindu war god)
  • Tyr (Norse), Perun (Slavic), Mixcoatl (Aztec)

These deities express the same archetypal pattern: the sword, the battlefield, the thrill of victory, and the temptation of bloodshed.

Mars-Archetype Nations (Hybrid View)

The following cultures historically carried a strong Mars signature:

  • Assyria – militaristic empire centered on conquest and terror tactics.
  • Sparta (classical Greece) – a society literally built around war training.
  • Hittites and Hatti – iron, chariots, and battlefield treaties.
  • Steppe peoples (Scythians, early Turks) – horse-archers, raiders, clan battles.
  • Some Arabian tribes – raiding, honor, and revenge codes.

In the biblical world, the Mars frequency shows up wherever violence is treated as a holy solution: holy wars, total destruction of enemies, blood sacrifices for favor. This often reflects not the Most High, but the Martian governor

Shadow and Redemption of Mars

  • Shadow: rage, war addiction, cruelty, domination, bloodlust.
  • Redeemed: courage, protection of the weak, brave truth-telling, spiritual warfare against injustice.

When Jesus rebukes violent solutions (Luke 9:54–56; Matthew 5:38–39), He is directly challenging the Mars archetype and revealing a higher way of courage rooted in love, not domination.

2. The Venus Archetype – Taurus & Libra

Venus is the archetype of beauty, pleasure, attraction, harmony, diplomacy, and desire. In its highest form, it expresses divine love and sacred beauty; in its lowest, seduction, vanity, and addiction to comfort. It rules:

  • Taurus – earthy, sensual, wealth, food, gardens, stability.
  • Libra – airy, relational, justice, balance, aesthetic harmony.

Across cultures, Venus appears as:

  • Inanna / Ishtar (Mesopotamia)
  • Aphrodite (Greek) / Venus (Roman)
  • Hathor (Egyptian love & joy goddess)
  • Oshun (Yoruba)
  • Lakshmi (Hindu – abundance & beauty)
  • Benzaiten (Japanese – art, music, flow)
  • Xochiquetzal (Aztec), Ix Chel (Maya, in one aspect)

All of them express the same pattern: love, magnetism, pleasure, art, adornment, and the temptation to worship beauty instead of its Source.

Venus-Archetype Nations (Hybrid View)

  • Phoenicia – trade, purple dye, luxury goods, sea-based prosperity, Astarte cults.
  • Some Sumerian city-states – temple-prostitution, sacred marriage rites for Inanna.
  • Egypt (Hathor cult regions) – music, dance, celebratory religion.
  • Classical Greece (Athens, islands) – art, sculpture, human beauty, philosophy of harmony.
  • Yoruba regions honoring Oshun – rivers, gold, sweetness, adornment.
  • Indian regions focused on Lakshmi – prosperity, fortune, auspicious beauty.

Whenever a culture is obsessed with:

  • cosmetics, jewelry, and adornment
  • status, wealth, and luxury
  • using sexuality as power

…we see the Venus archetype in its shadow form. When Venus is redeemed, it becomes: kindness, hospitality, beauty that points back to the Divine, and relational justice.

Jesus constantly redirects desire—from material beauty and status back to the heart of God: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

3. The Mercury Archetype – Gemini & Virgo

Mercury is the archetype of communication, trade, intelligence, language, storytelling, magic, and cunning. In its highest form, it becomes wisdom, true teaching, and skillful guidance. In its lowest, it becomes gossip, deception, and manipulation. It rules:

  • Gemini – duality, talk, curiosity, rapid information.
  • Virgo – analysis, detail, harvest, systems, service.

Across cultures, Mercury appears as:

  • Nebo / Nabu (Mesopotamia – scribe of the gods)
  • Thoth (Egypt – writing, magic, wisdom)
  • Hermes (Greek) / Mercury (Roman)
  • Eshu / Esu (Yoruba – crossroads, messages, trickster)
  • Wenchang Wang (Chinese – literature & exams)
  • Omoikane (Japanese – thought & wisdom)
  • Ganesh (Hindu, in his remover-of-obstacles, intellect aspect)
  • Quetzalcoatl / Kukulkan (Mesoamerica – wisdom, knowledge, sky-serpent)

These deities appear wherever there is: writing, trade routes, sacred knowledge, word-magic, esoteric schools, and trickster energy around truth.

Mercury-Archetype Nations (Hybrid View)

  • Babylon – astrology, magic, scribal culture, cuneiform, libraries (Nabu).
  • Egypt (Thoth centers) – priest-scribes, hermetic lore, temple schools.
  • Greece (especially Ionia and Athens) – philosophy, rhetoric, debate, theater.
  • Phoenicia – trade language, alphabet, sea routes, deals.
  • Nigeria / Yoruba regions – crossroads wisdom, divination, Eshu’s trickster lessons.
  • China’s scholar-bureaucrat culture – exams, calligraphy, Confucian classic learning.

Mercury’s shadow shows up as:

  • propaganda
  • spiritual manipulation
  • contracts designed to trap the poor
  • religious jargon hiding lack of love

Jesus constantly confronts the Mercury shadow in religious teachers: “You shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces.” (Matthew 23:13) He speaks as the pure Word that cuts through trickery and confusion.

4. The Jupiter Archetype – Sagittarius & Pisces

Jupiter is the archetype of expansion, wisdom, law, religion, kingship, philosophy, and blessing. In its highest form it becomes true justice, generous guidance, and spiritual vision. In its lowest, it becomes religious empire, spiritual pride, and “we are the chosen” nationalism. It rules:

  • Sagittarius – exploration, pilgrimage, philosophy, nomadic wisdom.
  • Pisces – mysticism, compassion, sacrifice, mass faith movements.

Across cultures, Jupiter appears as:

  • Marduk (Babylon)
  • Zeus (Greek) / Jupiter (Roman)
  • Amun-Ra (Egypt, in one synthesis)
  • Ahura Mazda (Persia, high creator in Zoroastrianism)
  • Indra / Brihaspati (Vedic tradition)
  • Odin (Norse, as wisdom-king type)
  • Shangdi / Tian (China – Heaven as moral authority)

These Jupiter forms represent: high kingship, moral order, priesthood, philosophical systems, and “guardian of the law.”

Jupiter-Archetype Nations (Hybrid View)

  • Babylon (later stages) – “head of gold,” center of law and empire.
  • Persia – royal roads, imperial tolerance, but also strong imperial religion.
  • Rome – senate, law, citizenship, imperial cult.
  • India (Vedic & classical periods) – layered spiritual-legal systems (dharma).
  • China – “Mandate of Heaven,” emperor as Son of Heaven, moral Confucian order.

The Jupiter shadow says: “We are the guardians of truth; others must submit or be erased.” This appears both in ancient empires and in later religious triumphalism.

Jesus confronts this energy directly when He says:

“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them… It shall not be so among you.” (Matthew 20:25–26)

He offers a different Jupiter expression: servant kingship, where greatness is measured by humility and generosity, not conquest.

5. Why Mapping the Nations Matters Spiritually

Understanding these archetypes is not about worshiping them; it is about recognizing patterns. When we see that nations, churches, and even movements can fall under:

  • Mars (holy war mindset)
  • Venus (prosperity and pleasure obsession)
  • Mercury (spiritual marketing and manipulation)
  • Jupiter (legalistic “we alone have truth” religion)

…we can name the influence, and choose a higher alignment with the Most High.

As you have been exploring in your SacredAtoZ series, the goal is: not to fear the archetypes, but to know their patterns so we are no longer unconsciously ruled by them.

6. How This Connects Back to YHWH and the Most High

In our earlier blogs, we saw that the national god of Israel often behaves like a mix of:

  • Mars (holy war commands)
  • Jupiter (law-giving, covenant empire)

At times, this voice called Israel into tribal violence and exclusion. At other times, the higher voice of the True Father broke through:

  • “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” (Hosea 6:6)
  • “Let justice roll down like waters.” (Amos 5:24)

Jesus then arrives and clearly reveals:

  • the Father above the national god
  • a kingdom not tied to tribe, empire, or archetype
  • a love stronger than Mars, richer than Venus, wiser than Mercury, and higher than Jupiter

In Him, the soul steps out from under the cosmic governors and into direct relationship with the Most High.

7. What Comes Next

This is only Part 1 of the archetypal map. In the next part, we will explore: Saturn, the Sun, and the Moon—the powers behind:

  • fear and limitation
  • kingship and glory
  • emotion and illusion

Then in Part 3 we will weave it together with the 12 tribes, the 12 apostles, and the story of how the 13th—the One outside the wheel—invites us into a life beyond fate.
